Les lignes

I am finally happy to share our line artwork from the Fall!!!

Students used selected principles of design (e.g., lines, shading) to create movement and dimension. They also used their knowledge of colours to create a certain mood, based on the music that was played when they coloured (Chopin's Prelude Op. 28, No. 20)

Learning in Action

I'm so proud of my students this week!

I just had to post a panoramic photo!

We are working towards independent work in the classroom.

Left to right: Google Earth on iPads (looking for Canadian landforms), students working on their science project with/without netbooks, students working on claymation at the back of the room.

Skeletons of 3D figures

Students constructed skeletons of three-dimensional figures using marshmallows and toothpicks. They created their own skeletons based on what they learned in our Geometry unit and were asked to describe their figure by its geometric properties.

Clay Stop-animation

We are finally completing our "Les habitats et les communautés" unit in Science. Students were able to research on a Canadian habitat of their choice. Their research provided information to complete their science project. As an extension activity and incorporating visual arts (creating 3D works of art), students worked in groups to create a visualization (interpretation) of a Canadian habitat using technology (iPad: NFB Pixstop).

Here are the final films. (more to come)
